@rysiek People think they work for "managers", but by definition they work for investors.
#Spotify is not a "music streaming service" you sweet summer child.
Spotify is a "give your money to Joe Rogan while fucking artists" service.
@_elena @stefan On my instance by far the largest space consumer is cached media files attached to posts.
If you reduce the time media is cached and someone needs it, it's simply refetched.
If you do one thing that should be it, the posts themselves are tiny.
Remember *both* Clintons and "superpredators"? I do.
@philip_cardella @mekkaokereke @bumblebeedc
It landed on me as a critique of Joe Biden in particular. It sounds to me like the three of us are already fighting (and agreeing about) a larger battle.
@philip_cardella @mekkaokereke @bumblebeedc
Yes, he hurt people, and he was part of a much larger movement that still exists and includes may seated Democrats and all Republicans, let's focus.
@philip_cardella @mekkaokereke @bumblebeedc
Sure. But no other pretend Democratic President (name them, it's fun: Hillary Clinton? Kamala Harris? Pete Buttigieg?) would pardon them either.
It's not just Biden, it's the (my) party.
@philip_cardella @mekkaokereke @bumblebeedc
"I'm talking about commuting 40 death sentences to life in prison, not pardoning"
That's an important point, thanks. I still fear (more than I am confident) I am right.
"there is no modern politician on planet earth more responsible for mass incarceration than Joe Biden"
I don't give a flying fuck about Joe Biden and I think I can see your point maybe, but that's a patently ridiculous troll.
How were his positions different from e.g. Bill Clinton?
I grew up in a world with no search engines and no targeted advertising, you are just going to have to trust me it was fucking *fine*.
@evan you forgot "it's up to them"
In the job description this is good: "Some knowledge or projects in digital accessibility and disability inclusion."
How about something similar specifically with regard to moderation tools and dealing with online hate?
The only correct answer to "Is America ready for black woman president?"
is
"What the fuck is wrong with you?"
@WarnerCrocker It's an incredible story using "incredible" the right way, my God.
I think it a big deal that the WaPo sat on the story.
Imagine having so little agency that you are criticized for "rejecting offers".
@CloudyMrs I had to get new pedal stems
It's 1979, I have heard of #unix but my university has no machine to run it. Prof says "Moravian College (across town) has a PDP-11 that runs unix, go check it out."
There was no email, students did not have telephones, I just walked into their computer center. They were so thrilled someone was interested they encouraged me to stay and learn.
Oh my God what have we done?
You are starting to get America when you realize that specifically where you pitch your protest tent determines how free your speech is.
@docpop We do the same thing with DEI in orgs - "diverse orgs are more productive!"
Give it a rest. Diverse orgs are more human, that's enough.
