@evan Hey! I know that guy. Thanks for your public support Evan.
The extent to which folks like you are ready and willing to stand with us as we ask for permission to speak for ourselves is really remarkable. I hope that when I’m needed I show up for all of you the way you are showing up for me.
If you’ve got a handful of spare change, the Miraheze wiki farm provides hosting for something like 20,000 wikis gratis and without ads. They have a US based 501(c)3 nonprofit to collect donations. They are hoping to raise $25,000 USD this year to pay for hosting fees. https://meta.miraheze.org/wiki/Fundraiser
Today is Labor Day in the US. Grover Cleveland felt that it was a better time to think about the contributions of solidarity to our collective work environment than International Workers Day on May 1st because that date might also remind you of the Haymarket Massacre. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haymarket_affair
@evan So just get 80% pre-agreement, hold an official vote to prove >50% agreement, and then hope the capitalist overlords will recognize the result and continue on to negotiate a collective bargaining agreement in good faith in say 5 years or so… I guess I can’t say there are less arduous rules for becoming a sovereign entity recognized by a significant portion of the other sovereign entities, but “easy” does rankle me a bit.
