    @zero the real revelation is that bots don't have to be sophisticated or convincing when the humans you're trying to trick are all emotionally compromised by engagement and outrage bait. @p has a bot that just uses markov chains and he tricks assholes with it constantly

    @Suiseiseki ooooh. Well that's terrible. And this is creeping into every field as a tool and nobody fucking understands how it works? Why aren't more people talking about this? I just assumed the math was difficult and buried in a bunch of research papers or something so nobody on the user end was bothering.

    @Suiseiseki ok so the source thing is misleading. It's actually just giant binary blobs that the software uses, but the underlying mechanism is all closed?

    @Suiseiseki ok, but don't necessarily want to use the tech, i want to understand how it works. I'm looking for resources for that.

    Also of the source code is available why not just use that and train it on fresh training data without using any of the binary blobs? I feel like I'm misunderstanding something fundamental here.
