    When it comes to federation politics on the #Fediverse I use (fedi., mk.)absturztau.be to measure if an instance has a good admin or not. If absturztau.be is blocked the admin is probably a psycho. The other measure (that usually follows the first one) is their defederated server list is so long you have to scroll down 10 times to reach the end. Why not just switch to whitelist federation at that point? :blobcathuh:

    @Jain A lot of these other admins like to dress up their antisocial defederation behaviour as some kind of moral crusade but the fact of the matter is it usually comes down to personal differences more than anything else. It's petty and dumb but that's the way a good deal of the Fedivese operates.

    @AlgorithmWolf The problem comes with the bad actors who knowingly disseminate disinformation. Their jobs become more difficult with a better educated population so that I think would be a better long term solution. It also depends on what is meant by "censorship". There has been a lot of selective outrage from the right when their grifters are called out for their lies which has been referred to as "censorship" or "cancelling". @r000t
