never send a raspberry pi to do an esp32's job

i'm looking for a custom original half life map i once developed a strong emotional attachment to, i want to recreate it as a hangout spot in resonite

i am probably misremebering bits of it but

it was a tiny map, i think set up as a very small deathmatch map, of a small square office building with an open center courtyard. the inside was well-lit and furnished with various pickups and notably that green sort of 70s cloth/felt texture on things iirc. the building was all internally connected so you could run a lap around the inside. there was no exit to any outside except for the center courtyard, which was open to the dusk/night sky -- and, notably, it was raining

this map was, i think, a small demo built up mostly to demonstrate weather effects. i was learning hammer at the time and ended up spending significant time in this map just Vibing to the ambiance. i have no idea how to find it anymore

i could totally do a recreation by memory but it'd be amazing to find the original

ah crap the steam frame only surfaces a pcie 4.0 x1 connection. so having a QSFP+ DAC cable trailing off my face isn't gonna happen just yet.

@ireneista its weird bc its like. they aren't actually that hot to touch but i guess when it happens for six to eight hours continuously the body is like "hey no stop that"

@xerz @whitequark you still have to have a separate device with an internet connection, it's really not that far from just taking a photo and sending it to someone

the resulting url is waaayy too big to fit in a discord message so like . idk. i guess you can copy and paste bits of the text decoded from it to someone

it's using like zlib with this very strange numerical-only encoding, i don't know why not base64 to make the resulting url smaller

idk i am definitely not the target audience for this windows-copycat feature

pondering the unhinged urge to answer any random "how's it going" truthfully
