I updated my profile pic and banner for the upcoming US holiday, but it really makes me me wonder. If people can leave their Christmas decoration up until New Years (or beyond) why do we have to be so quick removing Halloween ones?

Tried to read a couple of news stories this morning. It's infuriating to see 6 1-2 sentence paragraphs that say the exact same thing in slightly different ways without actually providing any more information than the headline did.

I suspect Al but I also know this is the result of teaching writing with a focus on word count over quality.

Using the Samsung News aggregater on my tablet and noticed Fox News in the list. I promptly told it to hide everything from them. Nothing changed. I went into settings and verified Fox News was deselected in the list of sources and explicitly hidden. It was still there. I scrolled down and saw another bullshit peddling source and hit hide. The screen refreshed and it was gone, but still Fox News remained.

I hate this kind of shit.

Hit the range to blow off some steam and get some practice in. I brought my Uberti 1873 (357 Mag) lever action rifle, my Henry 22lr lever action rifle, and my Canik TP9SF Elite 9mm.

Practiced mostly at 25 yards. All iron sights. I'm not disappointed. The squirrel was at 25 for 3 shots and then 15 for the rest. The burglar was at 10 yards with my 9mm. I call it "Get out of my house you murderous motherfucker." The horrible group around at the bottom left of the center target on the 5 spot was my 9mm at 25 yards.

The biggest issue I have with that movie was he had to keep taking the drops to maintain the vision he no longer wanted and kept doing it.

I heard scrabbling outside the bathroom window this morning. I looked out to see a raccoon climbing the house. I then noticed the 3 kits staring at me from the roof. Turns out the whole family likes to hang out there.

Sorry, but no pictures. I wasn't awake enough to grab my phone until they had wandered out of view.

I've decided I'd rather sit, have a drink and some food, and just talk to someone willing to listen rather than pay a therapist. In my experience, it's just as effective and costs less even if I pick up the tab.
