@Rasp The vertical mouse I tried was the logi MX Vertical, but I'm not sure DPI is the issue for me.
I think it's just the way you use a trackball is different from how you use any other kind of mouse, and I've found that I prefer that.
With a trackball I don't move my hand very much at all, maybe I move my wrist a bit but my hand is pretty much stationary. With a mouse I have to actually move my hand to get the cursor to move, and I realize that I don't like that very much.
So the funny thing is, all these mice that I'm trying - I think that if I need to just quickly move the cursor or something the keyboard mouse keys are still the way to go. But if I need to do something very mouse-dominant (like lots of clicking, cursor moving, etc), it's nice to have as a companion to my keyboard. Using keyboard mouse keys is just *too* convenient to count it out.
Also, I tried using the vertical mice that I bought a little today, and I super greatly don't like them. I'm too used to not moving my whole wrist/hand when moving the cursor now, and I don't want to go back to that. So now I have like a couple hundreds of dollars of mice that I don't even want to try to use because I didn't realize how much I'd dislike going back to moving my whole hand to move the cursor.
You know, I kinda wish I could send headlines from articles to past me. That'd be so fucked - can you imagine?

@puniko I used to run a funkwhale instance, but decided I wasn't ready to host it seriously so I tore it down. I always planned on setting one up again.
Out of curiosity, what issues do you run into while upgrading?
@Moon I no longer maintain any OSS, but when I did I would get BS PRs like this occasionally. The worst was when GitHub was giving swag out if you contributed to some projects.
I would not mind seeing your layout if you have it in a sharable way when you get your keyboard configured! It's always neat to see what people do layout-wise.
