     yeah oak should work. we have a sawmill back home where I can ask. they probably have scrap. my dad has table saw. but I don't know how to... grind it. I don't think he has a machine

     I do have sandpaper, but none of the other things. but thanks for the English names, that helps a lot. think buying a cheap electric hand plane is still cheaper than buying a finished one

     @kaia @mangeurdenuage you do this with a thickness planer, or a router or an electric hand plane with a jig to make it work like one. I saw a guide for this on YouTube, didn't get around to try it yet
     
     Or old school just saw & sandpaper, but it will be a ton of work and not perfect 😔

     @kaia @mangeurdenuage you can do a lot with it, it takes some skill but you can always even it out with the sandpaper or a sanding tool afterwards. I only bought one a month ago or so, still learning
