@jessew There is a region in Lower Saxony called "Ostfriesland" which most Germans are only 'familiar' with because they are the butt of a lot of German jokes. In these jokes they usually get the (unfair) role of stupid, backwards yockels.

I just wish people would, in general, adopt more of a habit of taking things from literature and trying to implement them in their lives rather than starting cults around creators and texts.

And funnily enough, the book about all this romanticized back to nature, living deliberately schtick ends with the protagonist moving back to society.

Because in the end, we need people. All of us.

I associate aboslutely nothing with it and even though I am quite adept in placing US states on their correct spot on the map....for some reason I always place Ohio above Montana next to Washington....like trying to mentally get it into Canadian Niemandsland....just away.
