Wow. They're calling the rise of AA, B and Indie games "deprofessionalization" now.

A lot of middle-men like large publishers and management are supposedly losing employees because small teams and just regular individuals have been learning to make good games, raising the bar and lowering the entry barrier.

To which I say: good fucking riddance. Cancerously oversized AAA publisher establishment needs to go the way of the TV in the wake of online video: slow, undignified extinction.

I also founded a small instance mastodonsocial.ru 8 years ago, which has, with help from @mo, @ZySoua, @inex, @Chia, @frssoft, @sarahquartz, @th3rdsergeevich and even @SiberiaBread (and let me know if I forgot to mention anybody) become a little known server called mastodon.ml. Thank you all. Even if some of you are patent assholes.

I also like talking and raving and ranting into microphones and I want the ru-fedi community to be cohesive, so I (along with @pastecat, @blue and @Kill2BlooD, can't forget u, ppl) created the Regular Expressions bi-weekly podcast. Thanks, @th3rdsergeevich for hosting it and everybody who has ever participated or gave it a listen.

Both projects have since taken on the life on their own, and I stepped down from being in charge for both of them. Which has always been the plan, by the way, so don't be sorry, they are fine, no regrets.

There are other crazy things in the pipeline. So... Let's be friends! Who knows what we'll do.

Ohai! I believe, I never got any formal #introduction on this platform.

I'm drq. I'm coming in peace from Moscow, Russia. I'm male, bi, in my mid 30s, I've been doing the Fediverse stuff for at least 8 years now. Promoting it, giving lectures and seminars about it, in my home land (albeit, carefully), making content for it, managing and moderating communities. It's my life's work.

I love movies, so I host @fmn with help from @frssoft and, earlier, @Chia. I want russian-speaking Fediverse community to be connected and strong, so I made @rf and adorned it with copious amounts of klukva - which is ironic fake-Soviet-Russian imagery (thank you, @fa11_1eaf for rewriting the underlying code). I want to support Fediverse's venue into multimedia, so I host xxivproduction.video (thx @vae and @Kill2BlooD for help, and @blue for the ongoing support).

@kini We have a local LLM server that supports the vast majority of those, and is pretty versatile. You know, Ollama.

I think, integrating an API for it into various software might not be the craziest idea. If the browser or whatever sees the local Ollama, it just uses it. Or allows for manually pointing it to a non-local URI.

What I hate is, when every piece of software is downloading its own model.

Come on. I don't have infinite hard drive space.

I wish there was an ActivttyPub tester / data flow simulator that can emulate, like, activity of various Fediverse software for testing compatibility.

Like, you're developing a new AP software, and want to test how well it integrates into the existing instances, and you want to emulate, say for example, a busy Mastodon instance. You just spin this up, point it at your new software, set what kinds of objects and activities you want to exchange, and run it.

I bet, this would've speed up the development of the new AP software significantly.
