Trump is starting trade wars with your closest allies and threatening their sovereignty
Do you remember reading books about Nazi Germany and thinking,
"How could the German People allow this to happen?" I would imagine they felt something like you and I.☹️
And Yes, I know it's not exactly the same situation, we are watching the modern version

I am fairly up on Nazi history.
Sometimes I wish I never had learned to read and was left in "blissful ignorance".
Sadly many "blissfully ignorant" Americans are about to be rudely slapped into facing reality, however I am sure there will be those who die saying, "what happened, why is this happening to me?".

The problem is more complicated than this.
For example:
People should have been "speaking out" and protesting when Reagan softened the laws for the media.

We live in a world of citizens who lack the ability to think ahead, everything is a response to a crisis, a knee jerk reaction after people are dying due to evil rulers.

Even our healthcare systems lack in preventive medicine.

Trump should sue Musk for attempted assassination.
