@bmacDonald94 John Kennedy Toole was a genuinely tragic figure. A brilliant writer who wrote possible the best American novel of the last century, only to be completely ignored and rejected by everyone in the business. Which led to his death.

I don't think all the pundits and suck-ups who praised him post-mortem were worth a damn, as that Pulitzer surely did him no good AFTER he was dead.
