@adityatelange Who uses a Linux system but then wants to fight against malicious software? That sounds like the worst of both worlds.

Does anyone know #OpenSource #FreeSoftware that can not only provide #spellchecking but also #language style checking, for the lack of a better term?

For context, I would like to counteract the online US cultural influence on me by re-modifying my language style to be consistent with the British English I learnt when I was little. Spelling differences like o/ou are only a small part of it though.

Vocab, slang, phrasing are aspects not covered by spellcheckers.

I haven't been using #Spotify or any kind of media streaming services for years now because I made the upgrade to physical or local media (vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital music files).

Some things I miss are the Release Radar, the auto-generated "radios" (similar song recommendation playlists), and of course #Wrapped.

Come to think of it, there _must_ be some #OpenSource tool that I can manually put my music into that replicates those features, right??

@ricard @sophie The problem is that this is a well-established tactic for corporations like BlueSky to snuff out community-driven "competition".

They're trying to kill us off.

First they embrace the enemy technology (this is where Bluesky supports federation), then they extend its functionality to where people depend on your add-ons (say if they extended ActivityPub by something like emoji reactions), and then they use that leverage to extinguish the competition.

Even I, definitely a techy person and interested in a libre Minecraft replacement, have bounced off of it regularly because it was simply not an enjoyable *game*.

Which content packs have compatibility with which other content packs is completely intransparent. Let alone balance considerations and stuff. Who knows if I have to run this on bare-bones Minetest or Mineclone (1,2,3?)?

@BeAware I do get it. The "test" part always underscored the main issue people had with it: it didn't feel like a game, it felt like a tech demo.

@BeAware Why not play Tekkit 2 then? It's on 1.12.2 and has BuildCraft, IC2 Classic, Forestry, and none of the new nonsense. :)
