@ami_angelwings when I was a kid I was taught that giant pandas weren't bears, they were related to raccoons. but apparently now they are considered bears

@steter ah, that is inconvenient. the server I'm on is glitch mastodon so maybe that's why it's different, we have had quoting for a while but I never use it

Hans from Frozen being evil was pointless. It's like Disney didn't realize they could just leave out the prince archetype if they wanted a romance-free princess movie.

@waitworry that makes sense. I never liked the old Disney princess movies because they bored me, but I think the modern ones are also lacking something. It all feels too "meta" to me, like they're self aware of being a Disney movie and so it all feels like familiar tropes are just being subverted or done ironically and not like anything genuinely new is being done...

Nala and Kiara are probably the best and most kickass princesses, even if they aren't official ones since they're lions...

@hellomiakoda there's a lot more to intelligience than genes. drug use and a lack of education at a young age can really stunt people's potential sadly. and other factors...

I also feel like filters work much better than CWs in general, it's easier for me to block words than expect others to know and cater to my issues

@cadusilva I can't find that page at all. My instance uses glitch mastodon so maybe it's set up a little different? The filters page just has a list of the filters I made and the option to make a new one. There's no choice to change how it works.

There's a totally separate preferences page but nothing about filters is in there.

#AskFedi is there a way to totally hide filtered posts so they don't show up at all? instead of appearing as "filtered" bars and taking up space? if there's another app that handles this better than #moshidon I will switch. I don't like having to scroll past giant "filtered" walls like this:

I'm trying to put Linux on a laptop and having an issue I never had before. I get as far as the "try or install zorin" screen but when I hit enter, the menu disappears and nothing happens. Anyone know how to get past this?

It's currently a windows 11 computer, I disabled secure boot and decrypted it already.

I noticed my recent posts say "1 boost" but when I look to see who boosted them, it says there's no boosts. 🤔 I never got a notification for them. What could be causing that?

edit: well no boost on this one yet... it looks like it's my #Ideon posts. I use a bunch of hashtags on those, maybe one is getting picked up by a bot?

@chikorita157 I did have a relay account boosting stuff seemingly randomly a while ago, but I thought it was annoying so I blocked it. Is there another account or does blocking it just not do anything?

@jeffowski this meme seems extremely classist. people don't do bad things because they're poor... if that were true, wealthy people would have more morals but I don't think that's the case
