Ok making a public post for reach.
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a secure, open-source:
- browser
- calendar
- email service
Would prefer if the calendar and email were integrated.
@skinnylatte one guy at a bar couldn't comprehend I was biracial and said that my white genes "gentrified" my brown genes.
Men like this are single for a reason. Let them die alone.
@skinnylatte So beautiful! I love how lush the plants look
If I was governor, I would order a mandatory cat on every person's chest.
And here are "red cards" which are "know your rights" cards for coming into contact with ICE. They come in various languages.
You can download your own and pass them along. https://www.ilrc.org/red-cards-tarjetas-rojas
If you come across this sort of post, please do your due diligence before reposting it.
Call local immigrant advocacy orgs or immigration law firms to confirm this information. They will send someone to investigate whether it's real or not. They will also provide services for people affected if it's real. (2/2)
There is a lot of misinformation being spread about ICE raids online. A social media group in my city spread false information about an ICE raid that didn't actually happen.
I saw this during Trump's first term. Bad actors create and share posts reporting ICE raids to intimidate immigrants. And well-meaning people share this info thinking that they're helping to spread the word. (1/2)
@skinnylatte I used to live near Tokyo Fish Market. Best fish ever!! And I always wanted to go to Patisserie Rotha but they were always sold out by noon. You have to go early.
I was talking to a friend about Social Work grad school programs and how it makes absolutely NO SENSE to go into debt for a degree where I would be expected to do 3,000 hours of unpaid or underpaid work afterwards to get licensed.
Maybe it gets better after that, but I'm at a point where I'm tired of proving myself to others. I also refuse to do free work anymore, especially emotional labor.
It's unfair because it keeps so many people like me out of the field. People with "lived experience" likely cannot afford to go in debt AND work for so little.
So social workers are overwhelmingly privileged people with a savior complex going into communities they aren't even a part of. The system encourages this.
@skinnylatte I bought a cake from Milk Bar years ago and thought it was
overrated. So sickingly sweet.
It's cool if other people like it, but why is it touted as some amazing thing? Esp when non-white owned bakeries don't get half that kind of attention.
@skinnylatte this is so confusing. Why were people advised to evacuate? Also, it's hard for me to read/understand this... (not your fault, but wish this info was more accessible)
@skinnylatte we should go next time!
California practiced slavery of both Black and Indigenous people and still does to this day.
Californians need to stop lying to themselves. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_slavery_in_California
And before anyone comes for me, I'm born and raised in this state. I went on a field trip to the Mission San Jose as a child. They completely glossed over slavery.
And never once mentioned slavery of Black people.
Hey, do you live in California? Are you gonna vote this year?
Prop 6 is gonna be on the ballot. It ends prison labor (aka modern-day slavery).
