   Every day I tell my wife ‘hey you know there’s this cool bakery in Oakland’ and ‘you know Tokyo fish market is amazing’ and ‘don’t you wanna be close to good Korean food’ and ‘what about Turkish bakery’ and she’s like ‘fine we can move to the east bay when it’s the right time’

   (I love you sf, but east bay is more my jam re food)

     Oakland bakery: Tarts de Feybasse

     Also very good Albany / El Cerrito bakery: Pâtisserie Rotha

     Tokyo fish market has one of the best fish counters

     Korean food: Moo bong ri, Yuyu Zazang, Seoul gomtang and many more

     Turkish bakery; Simurgh is incredible. Also v v sandwiches and fantastic baklava and Turkish delights

     All of the Mexican food in Fruitvale and East Oakland. Chinese food. Vietnamese food (Pho Ga Huong Que)

     @skinnylatte I used to live near Tokyo Fish Market. Best fish ever!! And I always wanted to go to Patisserie Rotha but they were always sold out by noon. You have to go early.

     It's mostly a sit-down (or takeout) restaurant, but has a modest stock of Korean convenience store merchandise and a fridge case with homemade kimchi and other foods.
