@jeridansky You have probably given me a clue… I hit the paywall on my phone and my personal Mac. Just to confirm, I checked my work laptop and found that I was able to access the articles. Its probably something to do with my region settings - I prefer the language/region settings to be UK English (because I prefer “colour” instead of “color” and DD/MM/YY still) and somehow the website is confused(I can’t think of any other setting that could be relevant) Anyway thanks for confirming this for me.

I just realized that BBC.com no longer free to read ONlY from the USA. Can someone outside the USA please confirm if they are able to access bbc.com and click on news articles without hitting the paywall?

What gives?? Is it another form of retaliation??

So... I went out for photography after a really long break. I made sure the batteries were charged the previous night. I checked that I had a warm jacket and that the tripod was in the car. I went out found a good frame, set up the camera on the tripod, but the damned thing won't turn on. I charged the batteries, but forgot to put them into the camera 🤦🏾 🤦🏾 🤦🏾

Well... that's a first... Anyway… made a post-it saying "Are the batteries/memory cards in me?" and stuck it on the camera for the next time ;-) Meanwhile... enjoy a picture from the archives... #bird #photography #birdPhotography #birdsofmastodon

Never was interested in Geese… Was actually lying flat on my belly, waiting for the Killdeer to move when this dapper looking youngster sauntered towards me… I took this shot… but then heard a loud honk and felt a sharp prod and bite on my thigh😬 Hey.. come on…. I never went near your kid… he was the one who entered my frame… Well, you can’t reason with anyone after your have taken a photo of their kid without asking permission can you… I had to retreat rubbing my behind…

@geoff_eg you should look into pixelfed for more photography oriented features. From one mastodon to another should be seamless (did it long time back from mastodon.social to sfba.social). Pixelfed might be a more involved effort as it’s based on mastodon but has some other features on top that may not be exactly compatible.
