@TimWardCam @jxrxme @pierstoval @djlink The size of a cup is well defined but changes depending on where you live.

It is probably useful to find out where your recipe originates from.

      Cup (unit)
The cup is a cooking measure of volume, commonly associated with cooking and serving sizes. In the US, it is traditionally equal to one-half US pint (236.6 ml). Because actual drinking cups may differ greatly from the size of this unit, standard measuring cups may be used, with a metric cup commonly being rounded up to 240 millilitres (legal cup), but 250 ml is also used depending on the measuring scale. United States Customary cup In the United States, the customary cup is half of a US liquid pint. Legal cup The cup currently used in the United States for nutrition labelling is defined in United States law as 240 ml. Cooking weights and measures
In recipes, quantities of ingredients may be specified by mass (commonly called weight), by volume, or by count. For most of history, most cookbooks did not specify quantities precisely, instead talking of "a nice leg of spring lamb", a "cupful" of lentils, a piece of butter "the size of a small apricot", and "sufficient" salt. Informal measurements such as a "pinch", a "drop", or a "hint" (soupçon) continue to be used from time to time. In the US, Fannie Farmer introduced the more exact specification of quantities by volume in her 1896 Boston Cooking-School Cook Book. Today, most of the world prefers metric measurement by weight, though the preference for volume measurements continues among home cooks in the United States and the rest of North America. Different ingredients are measured in different ways: Liquid ingredients are generally measured by volume worldwide. Dry bulk ingredients, such as sugar and flour, are measured by weight in most of the world ("250 g flour"), and by volume in North America ("1⁄2 cup flour"). Small quantities of salt and spices are generally measured by volume worldwide...

@jwildeboer I kind of retired from running mail servers. I mostly ran servers for orgs with between 50 and 200 users. False positives were always worse than false negatives. I tended to not block tlds or countries because some user always wanted mail from them.
I used postfix’s postscreen weighted RBLs feature to block spam. With a bit of tuning and the right selection of lists I managed to get rid of most spam. At some places I also ran spamassassin via mimedefang.

We had some bad weather this past weekend in South Africa.
    It’s supposed to be spring.

    Only in South Africa!
Spar is a major supermarket chain in South Africa, Stilbaai is a small town.
Bunny chow is a fast food dish consisting of a hollowed-out loaf of white bread filled with curry.
Holontplof loosely translated means “Arse Explosion”
I doubt if anywhere else in the world a supermarket would sell fast food described “Arse Explosion”

South Africa is having European winter conditions in spring at the moment.
The situation is not helped by it being a 4 day weekend for many. 24 September is a public holiday.
Many people are stuck on the roads on the way to the coast. This is becoming a real emergency.
This is a photo taken on Van Reenens Pass about halfway between Johannesburg and Durban. We are not geared for this.
