@todd_walker Mastodon *looks like* twitter but *is not* twitter. More like email with a twitter-like UI. Takes some getting used to :)

@todd_walker Now, you don't have to be ON those servers to find/follow people there, you can go to their respective web interfaces and follow folks of interest from the profile directory

@todd_walker The trick with mastodon is to find servers that have collections of the people you want to network with. mastodon.lol is full of gays. hachyderm.io has a lot of tech people. tech.lgbt has gay tech people. etc etc.
