Yes, we allow sex workers on .lol. We also allow people to express their sexuality here. We also understand that not everyone wants to see NSFW content, and therefore there are rules which restrict what can be shown on the Local timeline. Enforcement is strict, reports are dealt with.

If I exclude sex workers to make some people more comfortable, that would be problematic. If I exclude ace people to give sex workers more exposure, that would also be problematic.

mstdn.jp has been defederated as it's filled with sexual depictions of children and the mstdn.jp admin doesn't seem to mind.

Someone said they thought this was a server for communists and I had no idea how they managed to make something up and convince themselves it was true but then I realised they're a tankie.

So one of the largest Mastodon instances, "Pawoo", which has been defederated to fuck by many instances for hosting sexual depictions of children, has been bought by a crypto company.

Mastodon.lol is also one of the largest Mastodon instances, but I will never sell Mastodon.lol, or your data, to anyone. Fuck that.

@mattl Yeah I think it was me misunderstanding the graphs... The site was slow but not as slow as I thought it was reporting. Just internal latency :blobcatsad:

Just ordered a dedicated server for the database. That should solve our performance issues. I'll let people know tomorrow (Friday) when the instance will be down for maintenance. Wew. :blobnervous:

Latest update: I've requested an upgrade to the database server. It's the weekend so that will come tomorrow. CPU and memory will be doubled once again. I've been tuning postgres all day and literally nothing makes queries faster, so I'd say it's warranted.

Tonight you'll suffer with delays but not as much as I've been :sadness:
