(I haven’t read Hitchens, I don’t mean to include him. I’m talking about . . . internet atheists, I guess. Popular thought. If you know what he says about, I don’t use the term, but everyone else does, what he says about human nature, and it’s not flawed and wild and all that, please tell me.)

(but also, I notice that the atheists mostly don’t really have a better opinion of people either, and so fail to make the important change, also mistakenly focusing on the belief about God and not having a different opinion regarding the quality of people. I say “the legacy of our chimpanzee past,” is functionally identical to things like Christian Original Sin.)

something I say too. The existence or not of God wouldn’t really be up to us anyway, but the main thing is, what does your religion have you believing about people?

y'all have to understand that they don't destroy the entire civilized world for the money, that nobody pays you for that, that in fact they are spending money to do it. When they finish, and the world is in ashes, the money won't be worth shit.

This is not something that happens for good reasons, this is just a meltdown. I know they act like they know what they're doing, and it's natural to assume some reason to the madness, but they don't and you are not going to survive it if you think everything is proceeding logically

just a lamp with the frame, or the base made of teak (or teak veneer). It was a floor lamp, with teak legs that went to the top of a white tubular shade, the thing was maybe three or four feet high.

I have a teak floor lamp too, I can show you mine, but he and his are long gone.

I think for me the pinnacle, the ultimate was movies with music, my VHS I think, of The Commitments, played at home in Dolby Pro Logic, 90s. But then digital in the 10s, for a minute you could watch tenniis and feel you had to duck for the ball. I guess that was the real peak?

I was an early adopter of surround sound, the TV speakers were always a problem. But yes, that has all been enshittified, the encoding for surround isn’t supported through the networks or by all providers. Frustrating.
