I had an 1190 total until about 4 months ago when I had to take a break due to a couple small hernias. I just started lifting again on Sep 22. Current total: 225 (for 15 reps of each exercise). :(

@chmod777 Powerlifting did the same thing for me. Setting goals, understanding how progress isn't always linear, persistence, being kind to yourself, etc. all came out of trying to hit a 1000 lb. total.
