I'm prepping to convert to GrapheOS probably by the end of this week. For those of you who have made the transition:

1. What are some of the lessons learned from your experience in converting over to GraphenOS?

2. If you could go back and reinstall GrapheneOS again, would you have done anything differently?

@horse iCloud for her backup would be great. However, I am hoping to use this a back up for some files on my pc, my wife's PC, as well as some of our other mobile stuff. Besides, I'm the only one what is not on Apple so no iCloud for me :lolsob:

@Polychrome @maddiefuzz this is a solid suggestion. We are pretty avid library patrons so this will be on our list of things to do during the winter break.

@horse Thanks and I absolutely agree with you. Also, you’re in the 1000lb club!? Nice! When I was in the Navy, one of the bases I was assigned to started a 1000lb club at the base gym and it was constantly packed. But it somehow motivated all of us to create lifting plans and stick to a scheduled regime.

I guess it taught us persistence is key. It’s incredible how something seemingly difficult can motivate us to do more and try harder.

Challenging myself to ruck at least a mile a day. 2nd day completed (and Garmin servers are up!). Rucking has started to shape my perspective on how I set goals and how I plan to achieve them. I’m hoping to take that same mindset and apply that to learning new skills and to continue to pursue infosec knowledge.

@itisiboller I've seen a lot of toots (I'm still holding on to that here on Mastodon!) about Hugo and personal web sites. Any lessons learned/tips about your transition to Hugo?

I'm super interested in building my own site w/ Hugo, and I'm interested in learning from those who have made that plunge.

@itisiboller This is awesome!! I started to play around with Hugo last night and created the shell of my personal site. I'm definitely going over your guide to further help me. Thanks for taking the time to write this all out!

@horse @haircutfish I don't know many fish dudes in my life, but this guy? Not bad.

Started the New Year strong by exploring Snort and getting familiar with the tool.

Big shout out to @haircutfish and their write-up on the Snort Basics room. I got stuck in a few areas, but their guide helped me see what I was doing wrong. This is my first time ever using Snort, but it is pretty amazing. I know I need to familiarize myself with Snort rule writing, and hopefully, that will get better with time!
