@NanoRaptor if dragons secretly exist however and they are just like some top secret government thing... I'll go with dragon and they will be very well taken care of.
@soatok even if you have end-to-end encryption, you can still be quite vulnerable.
it doesn't protect the data or the ends themselves, only the transportation of the data. if you're really serious you'll want to encrypt the data itself seperately from the encryption for the transportation.
@BeAware the fact that we still rely on the traditional server/client model and thus not truly decentralized.
if a mastodon server in america (like mastodon.social) is taken down, that data is just gone. now if we used ipfs (or similar) then the data could persist regardless of the original (seeder/server?) being taken down.
it's currently not really de-centralized, it's more poly-centralized.
