@tennoseremel It's still convenient to use for example for development (guix shell lets you set up a temporary shell with some Guix packages loaded in the path).

@jackdaniel Sounds like the FPS is very good too then.

@tokenizer Gentoo is a good example of the opposite: You can change basically anything in the system to suit your needs, which is supported by the package manager etc. Apparently this is referred to as a "meta-distribution".

@olav Pseudo-counterargument: Docstrings in CL are first class strings (first expression in a function body, or (:documentation "docstring") for classes and generic functions). Doesn't cover all comments obviously, and I guess strings are technically not S-expressions.

Does anyone know if there is #android #malware that can make phone calls or send SMS without this showing up in the call log or outgoing SMSes? Have recently been called by someone claiming I called them as well as received SMS similar to "Who is this?".

Afaik I don't have any malicious apps as I only install from fdroid except a couple apps, however I'm running a quite outdated LineageOS build.

@redstarfish Looks nice. Out of curiosity, did you need to do any setup for encryption (E2EE) for direct messages/group chats? (I'm asking because in my experience the user experience must be extremely simple to convince "non-tech" people to use stuff like this.)

If you used Signal before, how does it compare?
