The reason we think Jane Austen is the first great female novel writer is because of “the Great Forgetting”: the famous female writers of the four decades preceding her, who she read and loved and used as inspiration, have largely been erased from the canon.

Went to Winterlights at the Bradley Estate tonight! The lights are EXCEPTIONAL. And they space people out enough that it felt like we had the place to ourselves. If you are in the Boston area I STRONGLY recommend it. #holidays #boston
