    Thoughts on free software and free speech

    Orgs like the FIRE (https://www.thefire.org/) should start an Respect Your Freedom of Speech certification, promote a list of RYFoS platforms and name and shame censorious ones.

    messtodon censorship is worse than proprietary censorship[1], because it pretends to give users power of free software, but forgot to mention users having accounts registered on a server instance are not real users of the free software (the server operators / admins are), and are powerless and subject to the same abuse by admins on proprietary platforms.
