Pro tip.

If you are writing a Unix/Linux bit of soft to make hardware work, try to NOT make Windows-like stuff.

It's ok that you were "born" under Windows, but...

- GitHub is shit, and corporation owned. Their rules for touching, cloning and retrieving files are governed by some piece of shit profit-as-only-standard corp.

- it's a POOR idea to place resulting file under /home . I get it, you grew up seeing every 3rd party, user-installed driver plopped into C:\Manufacturer\Driver\files.x but that is NOT good coding practice, trust you me. There is a reason why system-defined folders where you place resources and the bits of software using them are there.

Still, kudos for writing it, and saving the rest of us the brunt of the prodding device, guessing values, trying, etc.

Fash shitheels have been pretty uppitty lately, and it's past time they are afraid to even pip up their nazi bullshit in public.

Things you'd hope a well-educated (nuclear Physics, no less) 40+yo alleged adult would know:

- objects of similar shape and size go together.
- in an extendable platform, you put things that are heavier near the support, not at the furthest end. Angular momentum, materials, etc.
- if you put small things in all the big compartments, leaving only small compartments available, where the fuck are you gonna put big things that still need to be put there?
- if you do something wrong, you are doing nobody any favors, you are just doubling workload, because now I have to un-do the dumb stuff, and re-do everything, but harder than simply doing it right the first time.

I like how they go through the *deceptively* simple exercise of turning nearly everything into Bossa, and somehow achieve results that both surprise and satisfy.

Their version of "Marian" (Sisters Of Mercy) is even creepier than the original, and I did NOT think that was possible. Maybe the stark contrast of the upbeat Bossa and her mignon voice, SOMETHING.

- SIM, você pode ter mais contas em outras instâncias, ao mesmo tempo.

- Seja polido; as instâncias menores são controladas por comunidades menores, e MUITA atenção é prestada a comportamento de usuários. Divirta-se, respeite os outros usuários. Não quer dizer que você tem que aturar comportamento que você NÃO quer. Não gostou? Mude pra outra instância. Abuso? Reporte. Quer dar um tempo de um usuário? Mute por X dias/semanas.

My favorite remark regarding OS and chip agnosticism was "it's dark inside the box". GOOD, thoughtfully written code ought to result in similar environment for the user, across versions (hardware limitations respected) of software (NOT "APPS", software, anyone who calls *every* software "apps" needs to go to the same hell Jobs is in).

The resurgence of RISC (V) processors, is VERY interesting, but users may be wary, if only because habit and the bumps on the road of portability and chip manufacturing resources. Let's see where this goes.

I miss DEC Alpha, and PowerPCs... And BeOS. sigh.

A salvo. Maybe mastodon.social shouldn't be the standard for both rules and moderation praxis. Their moderation team is known for protecting nazionalist fascist fringe-right-wing speech, while punishing anyone who disagrees or dares to oppose it. We shouldn't use mastodon.social as anything but an example f what NOT to do in regard to moderation; they are well en route to become xitter-in-fediverse. All caveats apply, AYBABTU, NGGYUNGLYD.

Rule should be clear in that content should be attributed as possible; there is plenty of content, namely older material from Web1.0 that is very hard/near impossible to attribute. And, yes, I have seen that abused as excuse to punish people, elsewhere (ahem, see above).
