@icedquinn I'm certainly not fond of its overuse, though it became personal when the Diablo 3 beta first released and it became evident that they wanted to abandon the very strong art direction of 2 in favor of that aesthetic. That said I've never heard of Stormgate and a well made ugly RTS is better than nothing, RTS isn't exactly a star genre these days. I doubt I'll ever play it but they have an uphill battle either way.

@icedquinn RTS game made by high profile RTS devs having broken off for their own studio- the odds already weren't good so they may as well make whatever decision they were gonna make confidently. I still remember Universe At War. Petroglyph didn't collapse because of it, but they've been chasing lightning since they started out and have never recaptured command and conquer.

@kaia that might well be the place, I vaguely remember associating Spain with this whenever I saved it, probably off reddit. I could easily see this being a place in Guild Wars 2 or a Final Fantasy game.

@kaia I wrote them off for good when they outright lied about their chat app having end to end encryption. Plenty of boneheaded decisions before then but that was where I concluded that they're just a company that's perfectly comfortable with dishonesty.

@tk @Rocc @a1ba he presented the sandwich to his cat, who tentatively tried a bit of it that hadn't gone green yet, and then he drank the root beer. I don't remember if he recycled the can or not, but he probably didn't have the chops to chew through it.

I still remember when the message board I lurked for anime torrents had 1 mod send another a meatball parm sandwich internationally through the mail because they kept complaining about being hungry. It became a celebrated thread with daily photo updates as we all waited in anticipation.

The can of root beer turned out edible, at least.

Fallback home for @slash@cdrom.tokyo whenever technical issues happen to arise over there.I'm the photographer who goes by #drybeer. I do a lot of other things in my spare time, because that's easy to do when you never follow through on wild ideas. My tabletop RPG will release some day though.I follow FEAST principles: Freedom of Expression, Association, Speech and Thought are of paramount importance to me.
