@BeAware it is a nice thing to do, that's true, but........let me give you an example situation.
Let's say, for instance, just for an example, that you took a screenshot. A screenshot of a browser that has a web page opened in it, which contains so many details. Many details.
And now, let's add to it that you're in hurry in your real, actual life. You, remembering the ALT text requirement, is finding out that it will take you hours to describe in detail your image.
And now let's add to this that you have several images, and each of them will take you HOURS to describe.
To me, it seems to be a waste of time to do this. Like honestly, I do add ALT text still, but only to my images that will not take HOURS to describe. But only so far often do I have cases when images will take HOURS to describe.
So yeah, it's a nice a thing to do, BUT IT ALSO REQUIRES YOUR SACRICIFATION OF TIME SOMETIMES, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE MORE IMPORTANT STUFF TO DO.
And, personally - you may think whatever you want - I don't add ALT text to ALL my newly uploaded time anymore, except for easy-to-describe images.
How would you describe these images I shared on my recent post?
@BeAware I like it here too, honestly, like I said in my post.
BUT........................Mastodon, as far as I know, doesn't has a CEO..........only companies do, Mastodon is an organization, a non-profit one, I think?
And I am not bound as well to......what you said about.........as well, just as you aren't, but I'm not sure if I get your point right...................
Also, like I said, I am not leaving Mastodon, I do very much like it here. I just shared my thoughts on why Mastodon failed in my case to be a Twitter alternative that I want and that I miss.
Mastodon, honestly, haven't changed much since I joined. It has its own community, and I do realize now that it's impossible for Mastodon to become a Twitter-like community and post Twitter-like posts.
I know, most of you will say: "Of course, because Twitter sucks and you better not post anything like you would on X!", yet my point is, is that Mastodon's posts will never become like posts from other popular platforms.
Mastodon community has nothing to fear for. They don't have to fear that Mastodon is going to die, or that Mastodon will no longer be Mastodon.
Mastodon, to me, feels more like old Facebook + old Twitter combination. Yeah, the old ones that I knew.
Imagine if all your friends were sharing their honest thoughts, sharing their pictures. That's literally my feed on here.
I can't say that Mastodon is a bad place to exist, because I don't think it is. But honestly, Mastodon *fails* as a Twitter alternative, because........it's not meant to be an alternative to Twitter.
Yes, I know what you will say. But, still, Mastodon is better to be recommended as a somewhat alternative to Facebook, rather then as alternative to Twitter.
I just feel like as if Facebook users had moved to Mastodon, you know? That type of vibe Mastodon gives me, when I scroll my feed on here.
It's no wonder Bluesky is becoming the number #1 best alternative to Twitter, *because it was created with mind to be an alternative to Twitter*. No wonder people are saying that Bluesky LOOKS and FEELS like twitter.
See? See where am I going with that?
But Mastodon? But what about Mastodon?
Mastodon = is an old, good Facebook that Facebook used to be. Mastodon doesn't gives me vibes or a feel that I use Twitter......unless I use former Twitter app that is now remade to be for Mastodon (like @MonaApp / @ivory ) app. Yes, using an app like that does gives me Twitter vibes - just sharing that personally at least what I feel like.
BUT, even then, Mastodon still feels like Facebook. I'm sorry, but that's the way things are. At least on my side and the feed that I have.
Mastodon has its own ecosystem. Mastodon has its own world.
And that world is DIFFERENT then old Twitter's or Bluesky's.
Bluesky did managed to recreate Twitter's world perfectly which I miss.
Congrats to Bluesky and I'm sorry for your loss, Mastodon - for loss in being a good competetitor to Twitter. There are still small chances for Mastodon to win, though, BUT ONLY if people are going to use Mastodon through apps for Mastodon that will give them old Twitter vibes. For Apple users, I think it's Mona and Ivory. Just because these apps used to be Twitter apps before.
Mastodon has else issues though, I must say. It's about blocking domains/defederating from some Fediverse instances.
You see, I've been watching for an year and a half and still, how do people on here are abusing defederation. A good example of it is mastodon.art .
I've also seen other people promoting to block that or that Mastodon server/Mastodon user, just because they don't agree with what that user/Mastodon server's community says/its opinions.
Honestly, personally, I dislike such approach. If you want to defederate, just defederate from a user/Mastodon server that is a spam, or a scam, or violates any normal human being's rules taht are accepted widely and globally everywhere. But don't abuse that tool, please!
As for now, I am mainly active on Bluesky - https://expertplus.creator.blue , if anyone wants to follow meover there or as @expertplus.creator.blue (make sure to follow @bsky.brid.gy so that you and I would be to interact with each other), because that's where most of my Twitter followings are, and that's where I have a good amount of audience (252 followers), although I must say, on Mastodon I have the best engagement, while on Bluesky, uh, I mainly have zero engagement, feels like nobody sees my posts when I post there.
I'm not leaving Mastodon, of course no, but I've sen some people I know, who were wondering about me being inactive on Mastodon, so that's why did I wrote this whole thing.
If you've made it this far to the end of my post, thank you for reading it and have a good day :-)
P.S. I daily check my Mastodon notifications, so, don't worry, I am still active on here, although I post rarely on here now. But feel free to reach out to me :-)
It explains how Mastodon isn't an alternative to Twitter at all and can't be. On other hand, as far as I know it, Mastodon isn't a company; it's an organization.
Plus, you gotta admit it: if you'll read my pinned post I linked, you'll understand: Bluesky is made to be a Twitter replacement, while Mastodon isn't.
Okay, let's leave Mastodon alone. Are there any other Fediverse server that replicates the Twitter feel and vibe? No, there isn't.
At least, I haven't found one yet. But I did found out that Bluesky is the one that restores the old Twitter feeling and looking.
So yeah, read the post, and you'll understand what I mean.
P.S. If you think that there is a good, perfect alternative to Twitter that isn't Bluesky - name me it.
From my interactions with Mastodon users, all of these facts aren't accepted by them at all, they really start to strongly defend their beliefs, starting to talking about either reputation or behavement of a person/company, or either their past actions. Guess what? I don't care about anything of that; I just need a good product that worth to use.
For those of you who have no idea what am I talking about: we live in Florida and we had experienced a few hurricanes, house flooding, and lived without power. Now it had came back and I am once again back at my computer writing this :-)
I might post at the time or might not. Around week I won't be active.
Even after it.
Honestly, wish me luck. I will be looking for job out there in Florida and I might return back, but not very soon.
Unless I find a job.
See you next time!

Meanwhile, while it's still on my mind, let me post my thoughts in one post:
Thought one:
Bluesky, as far as it seems, seems to be the best Twitter alternative as of now.
You see, unlike Mastodon, it has so-called "profile labelers". Won't explain to you now what are these things, since I don't have time, so you can figure it out on your own.
Long story short, because Bluesky has ***real*** DMs (dislike private mentions on here), just like on Twitter, has profile labelers, has a Twitter feeling interface and community and similar algorithms and most of Twitter's features, --- Bluesky might be the best candidate to be Twitter alternative!
Thought number two:
I see everyone on #Threads discussing Bluesky. Many people seem to be disliking Threads and prefer Bluesky instead. I also heard many Brazilians news programs switching now to Bluesky.
Listen, I know what you gonna say. That Mastodon is the best one.
Thought number 3:
Engagement report:
I have 354 followers on Twitter (never call it #X !), most are bots, some real humans, but I mainly receive no interaction unless I reply to a tweet that is about to go viral.
I have 30 followers on Bluesky. No interaction, unless I respond to any post.
Basically: only my replies on #Twitter and #Bluesky have interactions. My posts don't.
Another thought: my engagement on #Mastodon is the best one. Here, I have 155 followers.
You see, Bluesky is the best alternative ONLY if you previously had big audience on Twitter. If you weren't popular at all and didn't made any name on there, Bluesky is useless to you as alternative to Twitter.
I never made a name over there.
Here, on Mastodon, I got a good audience of mine. I can tell that some good amount of people on Mastodon are familiar with me, and it's easy to go viral on here.
Here, I have real conversations. I mean, I do as well have conversations on these other 3 platforms too, but like, here people are actually want to discuss anything.
Man.
Nobody knows me on Bluesky, Twitter, Threads.
Oh, Threads. I have 51 followers over there but only my Mastodon friends interact with me. Same on Bluesky.
So,
Best engagement and easiest way to go viral? Mastodon.
Best way to get your Twitter audience back on another platform without Elon? It's Bluesky.
And if you want to....I totally have no idea for what cases I could recommend Threads.
Context: I got randomly DMed on Twitter, told them to go the fuck off, and their response was quite sus. So, I did what others have done previously many times.
To be honest, that's scary. If you're still on bird site, be aware.
