We've been having this funktion for over 4 years. (Of course only with a few basic products)

Thanks for the explanation :) Yes I think there's a big part of that playing, the exitement most of you have combined with sharing more makes the post more boosted up.

Of course language could be a player too, english is the main language between 28 countries, but that auto-includes american posts.

There's verious reasons, but in the end it looks like they purpously select all US posts for european timelines, while instead it should fairly select european posts.

The #fediverse seems a great opportunity for Europeans to finally have a non-american social media platform. There's one thing though:

The explore tab.

Every Mastodon instance shares the same news, posts and followers. And they are 90% corporate american.

Invented by a German, and having 28 countries with nearly half a billion people, you'd expect EUROPEAN stuff.

Nope.

This shifts Fediverse towards the platforms we're trying to get away from.

FB, Insta, Google, YT, Twitter, Snapchat etc.

For our fellow americans, here's a comparison on how europeans are feeling.

How would you like it if:

- 90% of the news, every day, frontpage, have an EU president screaming something.

- Despite thousands of strong US IT companies, the only options you have is European social media.

- Your freelance friends going down because the EU is forcing AI upon you and can create everything with a single click, profting only EU corps.

How would you feel? Just sit there and accept it?

Firefox is just another US-corporate product with an 'open source' sticker on it.

Their version 128 update has auto checked a new little privacy breach setting.

If you still use a corporate browser, at least do some safety version! We mainly use @librewolf based on firefox. (yes, we know, a stable european or even non-US browser is still considered 'futuristic' in europe)

Nothing wrong with a collapse of social media in europe, it's all corporate and american, they're just messing with europe.

It would be a great opertunity to get european social media platforms, even just one of them would be great.
