Again, it's a very promising sign when mainstream figures begin to publicly process what it means to be in a coup and what it looks like to not just "resist" but build robust, durable institutions to replace the very foundations on which authoritarianism relies.

If one half of #worldbuilding a #solarpunk #space #ttrpg is accommodating popular existing #scifi tropes, the other is fostering stories that heretofore have been absent for lack of the setting.

What are some examples of space stories and themes that are specific and exclusive to solarpunk?

I think there might be some confusion here.

I'm looking at their site (https://freeourfeeds.com/) and it doesn't have Meta. It doesn't even have a page for "Partners".

It also starts the page with the statement, "With Zuckerberg going full Musk last week, we can no longer let billionaires control our digital public square."

I wasn't familiar with them, but this post about the establishment of the Social Web Foundation is illuminating.

It's a nonprofit which promotes the use of ActivityPub. Meta is a partner because Threads uses it.

Just finished "Four Futures: Life After Capitalism" by Peter Frase, and it's fantastic!

Frase examines 4 scenarios: abundance & egalitarianism (Communism); abundance & hierarchy (Rentism); scarcity & egalitarianism (Socialism); and scarcity & hierarchy (Exterminism).

His descriptions of #communism and #socialism both sound very similar to the conditions of Fully Automated!

My hope is that if we focus on the big picture, we can learn to enjoy watching progress even if we know that the work is for the next generation more than it's for us.

Like a tree. You can enjoy the shade and comfort of a fruit bearing tree well before it bears fruit. And you can make some pies and stuff out of early harvests, even if the first few are pretty sour. There's satisfaction early, even if the best stuff is very slow.

When it seems like our timeline is headed in the wrong direction, it helps to write stories about how things got better.

Not magically: MADE better, by people who used the strengths only accessible to those who believe in things like collectivism and universal equality.

In our game world, the road to the next age takes decades. It's a winding route, but a much better world grows slowly from seeds nurtured a long time.

We are our descendants ancestors. Live like it.

It is journalistic malpractice that this article omits mention of Minister of Security Itmar Ben-Gvir.

Ben-Gvir is a convicted terrorist who managed to rise from the extreme political fringe to head of the police.

While he is not on the war cabinet, he's established himself as the primary executor of the project to ethnically cleanse Israel domestically and within the West Bank.

"Far right israeli settler attacks" is coded language for police-led ethnic cleansing.

Since this got boosted I'll add that if any readers of "The Lost Cause" found themselves wanting to go on adventures in that setting (about fifty years later), that's a pretty good summary of the vibe of our tabletop RPG.
