yeah, both me and my wifes families basically follow this pattern of silent generation that always helped out no matter what and understood that collectivism was the way, extremely disconnected and self-centered boomers, disaffected but still partying gen X people and at minimum somewhat struggling millenials/zoomers with zero wealth accumulation and perpetual crisis mentality
something went very wrong with the boomer generation in particular, especially as they aged, but it's also hard to pin down because boomer culture basically defines our societies
