@skinnylatte Ooh, I'd like to hear your thoughts on how the ride was. I've always wanted to do an Amtrak trip (but I'm also very cautious about staying masked indoors).

My IG photog account was suspended this morning, but they wouldn't specify why. The only things "wrong" I did that I could think of was block accounts of large brands who had ads in my feed and have "Now posting to Pixelfed!" in my bio.

I was able to get it back online after appealing and doing the whole "look left, look right, look up" video selfie. They apologized in the email, but still didn't say what they thought was wrong.

@dansup Not sure if this is something that's already been suggested, but I feel that a giant "DONATE HERE" link in a very visible part of the Pixelfed UI would help tons.

Unedited 26 megapixel JPG files from my mirrorless camera tend to be in the 17 MB range (just over the 15 MB limit in Pixelfed and 16 MB limit in Mastodon.social).

Although 26 megapixels is more than enough for my needs, it is on the lower end of most modern mirrorless cameras produce these days (with a few exceptions), so others with higher end cameras than mine might have it worse than I do posting pics here and PF.

With this current Fedi exodus from Meta platforms and X, I'd like to ask: Could we PLEASE remove the file size limit for posting photos and other images to Mastodon and Pixelfed? They get compressed anyway, so why should the user also have to their own compressing before uploading?

@dansup @pixelfed One vote for yes from me! Or if not, at least getting integration with @bsky.brid.gy to work in Pixelfed like it does with Mastodon.

@jwz I'd have to assume Meta, X, various cable news channels, and robo calling and SMS marketing companies probably receive the majority of it since that's where much of the political ads are showing up. Maybe the venues where rallies are held as well.

I just realized that, although @pixelfed lets me follow Threads users who have Fediverse sharing enabled (e.g., @reuben, @ryanbates, and @friskygeek), it looks like their photo posts aren't appearing when viewing their profiles in Pixelfed (despite my following them for weeks now). How should I go about reporting this?

I was wondering, as Loops will be based on Pixelfed, is there a chance that the 15MB limit for photos will be increased? I ask since I assume most of the videos that will be uploaded will be much larger than 15MB.
