Taxes.
Taxes are how we force the extra profits back to those being replaced. We use the taxes to fund good social programs, backed by strong labour laws.

@mekkaokereke Dock work is one of the more dangerous occupations and should be automated. The big is problem is how the workers are treated by companies and governments when they are replaced. More often than not they are kicked to the curb. As a society we need to figure out what we are going to do the with all the workers on the cusp of being automated out of work.

We can start with an effective 90% tax rate for anyone who earns over 10 million, or maybe only 1 million. I'm not picky.

@cks I had the same problem with a similar aged desktop. I bought a new power supply and the problem went away. I didn't install the power supply. It is still in the shrink wrap.
