    @KeepTakingTheSoma @TriptychTwinsRidesAgain But Palestine Action are already a proscribed terrorist organisation, so if they have those words in the name of their account, then Yorkshire Building Society were obliged to close it.

    Even if they didn't, Building Societies are basically private clubs, who can admit or expel who they like.
    There's nothing to stop any bank from googling you to find out what organisations you support with the money they bank for you.
    They've obviously taken the decision that supporting these two brings the Society into disrepute.

    De-Banking has happened to numerous conservative influencers in the UK, US, and Canada, over the last few years. The difference was, those people were not likely to be funneling their funds to proscribed terrorist groups .

    The Puritans (and the later Victorians) hacked them off, or painted them over, as despised Catholic "pagan" imagery.
