I'm starting to think there's two fediverses:

The one where people blocked all the dickheads who brought Twitter drama here, and the one where these people aren't blocked.

I see bleeding between the two, and the occasional reply to someone I blocked for Twitter drama, but I don't get the feed full of shit takes and angry ex-Twitter people

Asking people to CW politics: that's a blocking.

It's also some heavy white privilege

I don't see much of Trump lately, because I actively avoid it, but every small clip I've seen is just insanity.

He just says what he wants, no challenge, and looks like drugged out fucker we walked past last night on the corner of Bourke and Swanston (you know if you know)

I spend a lot of time on YT, as do the kids, so we've got pretty full profiles.

Funnily enough, if the kids watch YT on the TV, it's my account, so I can see how their viewing affects mine. 5th tile will go from Minecraft to Rogan. 😬

It's why I have a blanket ban on "Shorts", it's like 5th tile all the time

@moz the 5th tile definitely recommends in-line with your tastes, but it's always toxic. Not sure if it does that on Premium, but definitely free there's a 5th tile. I see it on my kids' computers, and I need to explain what it is to them at some stage

After having been on YouTube for well over a decade, I've noticed some of the dark patterns.

One is the 5th video tile on your "Home" (not including ad tiles, I block ads).

It's the toxic tile. The one with the low view (<1000), low quality, possibly racist, videos.

Never click the 5th video tile.

I just saw The Project turn up in that tile 😆

I was rather enjoying Scarlet Witch. Some serious early Symmetra vibes

@FlashMobOfOne yeh, it's really not. Even with long games, people refill quickly for quick play.

I get penalties for competitive, but my daughter got a 15 minute penality because I told her to come have dinner 🙄

It wasn't so bad before they patched it so you have to be logged in for it to count down

@FlashMobOfOne it's quite fun, but very buggy, and the "game leave" punishment for quick play is extreme. Even my daughter is upset by it

@slothrop not sure how to help with that one. Rice with furikake is a great "can't be fucked" lunch, but you have to be prepared 😖

Say it with me:

Israel has no right to self-defence against people they occupy. To attack those you occupy is a crime against humanity.

Palestinians have a codified right under international law to armed resistance to occupiers.

As much as war crimes were committed on Oct. 7, this does not give Israel a right to respond, let alone commit genocide.

This is how international law works. Don't like it? Find another planet to live on
