@inthehands I'm in. I have some "unrealized gain" from buying stock in my brother's employer 15 years ago and just... sitting on it. I sold a little and rolled it into TSLQ. I didn't do anything to earn that money and I'm happy to put it to work like this.

@skinnylatte I have oddly specific muscle memory of ejecting cassettes from the aftermarket cassette deck of a 1984 Mercury Topaz and slapping them on my thigh to change my grip and re-insert the "other side" because the "auto-reverse" head was mis-aligned and only played in stereo in one direction. (A lot of things in that car were mis-aligned by the mid-90s, including the doors, which were salvaged from other cars.) All of which is to say, The Replacements, Pleased to Meet Me, either side.

@skinnylatte If it was a CD stuck in the stereo I might have a different choice but cassette players demand cassette-era music, I think

@WarnerCrocker looks like a marine corps emblem on the hat? Eagle over globe, anchor behind?

@sinbad When I was in grad school - nearly 20 years ago now - I went to a colloquium talk by a theory professor who skipped the usual Powerpoint projection and instead made dry-erase marker notes on transparencies she projected on a screen. I think she sensed our shock because after a few minutes she paused and said, "I don't think you can do really good computer science unless you hate computers."
