So if a person is very clumsy and gets the glue from a fly trap on their hands, and then try to wash it off with soap and only succeed in spreading it to more spots so fingers stick together, then try acetone which didn't work, then more soap and a nail brush to hopefully get it off by trapping it with the bristles, and everything is still sticky after 30 minutes
What is such a person to do to get rid of the glue-fingers?

After talking about, and reading other's thoughts about, HotE, I am rereading again. Not what I planned to be reading, but hey, the other current books are all paper copies, and I /was/ planning on trying out various e-reader apps, a long book is useful for that.
So far I tried Moon+ and FBReader, also have ReadEra and Librera on the to-try list.

Moon+: I can't find a font that works for me among the ones included, I'd probably have to download and import one and I don't even know where to begin. Kept losing focus and having to squint to see the text, despite several different fonts, font sizes, and colour schemes. But it was able to pick up books from my cloud storage!

FBReader: have to manually download each book to my device separately, the only cloud it supports is google drive based and I'm not moving TO drive. Fuck that. On the plus side, if I am ok with manually moving books into a local folder, the permissions it gets is only for that folder. I like that.
The best part: the initial colour scheme and fonts are readable with no adjustments!

Finished HotE in FBReader, I enjoyed the actual reading experience except it was a bit quick to flip pages when I tried to do other things, but onto the next book (The Return of Fitzroy Angursell) in a new app to try.

Librera got uninstalled for wanting too wide permissions and also wanting to share my data for so-called advertising purposes. Goodbye, next

I was able to pick up my pen yesterday, and inked it up with Diamine Three Kings. I was considering Golden Sands but I felt hesitant about putting shimmer in it, unusually for me.
I do think it's more of a mustard colour than a honey colour but hey, I love it.

Getting out from under the warm blankets wasn't easy today, I procrastinated for half an hour.

Have a cup of tea, and a thing of yoghurt. Also a cat that's very insistent about snuggles. Now.

Aaaah shit. Can't get onto the work vpn. That might mean I need to hop on a train to Stockholm later today or monday, really not part of my plans. (Need to get onto the office network to fix it, it's happened before)

If I want to do a personal webpage thing, like a glorified blog which would mostly be an alternative place to dump random thoughts and pictures, where does one start these days? Two years ago the answer was wordpress, but I understand that's no longer the case.
I have limited cognitive energy, and I'd like to save it for work/taking care of myself/doing Fun stuff, so I'll fiddle with settings and write some css and call it a day, but the rest better be out of the box.

I was flipping through my work notebook thinking it's soon full and discovered it's going to be full sooner than I thought: I have been filling it from the back too, with meeting doodles like these.

Ok, more sciencing on my Kaweco Art Sports. New 🧵 #FountainPen
Recap: the art sports, and the first version of the piston filler, with the clip permanently mounted, lack the inner cap other Kaweco Sports have, and doesn't seal well, resulting in pens that dry out very quickly.
I have three pens.
One is unmodified, one has gotten a silicone o-ring inside the cap to create a seal between the pen body and the cap, and one has gotten plumber's tape between the finial and the cap.1/?

@pettter I include the western type cultures and takes in "whiteness", which definitely includes Murderbot (which I have read multiple times and love). It's why I think Master of Djinn - or something even further into another culture than the Eurocentric - could be a good fit.

So I am in a local-ish book circle with friends here in Sweden, we are reading kind, queer, feel-goody sff mainly. It'll be my time to pick a book in a few months, and I am thinking maybe A Master of Djinn by P. Djeli Clark, to tug the group out of its whiteness for a while. I'd love some suggestions for other books that loosely fill the criteria that are not set in a european-ish/western setting with white people, by poc authors, if you guys have read anything good?
