@silhelm I've also tried many different ebook reader apps to try and find something I can be happy with. Not really found anything so far. I like Book's Story, except the fatal flaw that you can only scroll books, no pagination. But the dev is seemingly working on it. Other than that I haven't been very happy with anyone I've tried so far.

Librera got uninstalled for wanting too wide permissions and also wanting to share my data for so-called advertising purposes. Goodbye, next

Finished HotE in FBReader, I enjoyed the actual reading experience except it was a bit quick to flip pages when I tried to do other things, but onto the next book (The Return of Fitzroy Angursell) in a new app to try.

FBReader: have to manually download each book to my device separately, the only cloud it supports is google drive based and I'm not moving TO drive. Fuck that. On the plus side, if I am ok with manually moving books into a local folder, the permissions it gets is only for that folder. I like that.

The best part: the initial colour scheme and fonts are readable with no adjustments!

Moon+: I can't find a font that works for me among the ones included, I'd probably have to download and import one and I don't even know where to begin. Kept losing focus and having to squint to see the text, despite several different fonts, font sizes, and colour schemes. But it was able to pick up books from my cloud storage!

After talking about, and reading other's thoughts about, HotE, I am rereading again. Not what I planned to be reading, but hey, the other current books are all paper copies, and I /was/ planning on trying out various e-reader apps, a long book is useful for that.

So far I tried Moon+ and FBReader, also have ReadEra and Librera on the to-try list.
