I saw some requests for a forum, now the one at joinmastodon has closed.

I have setup a forum at https://forum.activityclub.nl for all people wanting to discuss Activitypub related subjects (Mastodon being one of them)

@alexevon Yeah the first one grew from 100 to 125000 users in 4 weeks... I now know about scaling Mastodon ;-)

So, while I'm waiting on the install.. a thought I'd like to share.

I love #selfhosted software. At a certain point, I started hosting all services for me and my family myself. Chat, mail, documents etc.

But, I'm now slowly moving away from that thought. Stuff that the family uses, shouldn't be self-hosted. In the case I might be gone, my wife and kids can't/won't maintain all that.

So from now on I only self-host stuff for myself. (Oh, and for you guys. Don't worry, we have extra admins...)

Creating a third Mastodon instance, which will probably be a small one. Just like musicworld.social this will be for a hobby of mine, so that might give away what it will be...

@germilhistory @watson_works Rob, if you like I can reset your password for you, which should send you mail. But first make sure you select mastodon.world in your app, some people select the wrong server and tat won't work ;-)
