Spencer (spencer@motley.club)'s status on Friday, 11-Oct-2024 04:39:11 JST Spencer I previously installed the .deb version of Firefox on my #Ubuntu desktop and did my best to switch my .desktop files and move my profile, because of a bug in the snap.
Somehow, the .desktop files I deleted have returned, and running firefox, which was previously successfully launching the .deb, is back to trying to launch the snap.
Whaaaaaaaat is this. Fucking stop. -

Spencer (spencer@motley.club)'s status on Monday, 21-Aug-2023 05:40:13 JST Spencer I'm still thinking about the idea of forking #Bookwyrm to make a federated Untappd-like service for tracking beers. I don't have the know-how, but gosh, that would be a cool #FOSS and #fediverse project. -

Spencer (spencer@motley.club)'s status on Friday, 09-Jun-2023 09:22:48 JST Spencer Hey #hamradio friends, I got my Technician license a year ago and have exactly diddly-squat with it since then. I have a little Baofeng handheld to play with.
What are some fun things I could do, now that I'm licensed? Bonus points for small, easy things; I'm a new dad and don't have a ton of time or money to spend on hobbies at the moment. -

Spencer (spencer@motley.club)'s status on Tuesday, 25-Apr-2023 07:02:51 JST Spencer @hypolite @silverwizard Your read on 2 is... interesting to me. I'm not sure I agree. I always understood it, like much of their persona, to be deliberately, hyperbolically silly. The movement arose, after all, as a response to Kansas attempting to force "intelligent design" to be taught in schools—my read is that they used "pirates cause global warming" as a way to illustrate the absurdity of conflating correlation and causation.
Of course, when your MO is "claim to believe absurd things with a straight face," that can get into weird places.
Since you seem to have had a much less savory experience with these folks, I'm curious what you saw regarding climate change activism. Did you see Pastafarians actually pushing back on climate change? -

Spencer (spencer@motley.club)'s status on Sunday, 22-Jan-2023 04:20:41 JST Spencer @silverwizard For Netrunner? If you want the newest version of the #Netrunner core set, the one we (Null Signal Games) make, that's called System Gateway. It comes in two parts, which you can purchase together or separately, based on what you're interested in: - The Starter Pack, which contains slimmed-down duel decks for learning the basics, plus a handful of extra cards for each side to introduce more advanced concepts, and
- The Deckbuilding Pack, which expands on the cards in the Starter Pack and provides a bunch of extra cards for you to start deckbuilding with.
If you think you'll be interested in making your own custom decks, I'd recommend getting both 1 and 2, which we sell as a bundle. On the flip side, if you only want to dip your toe in right now and don't care about customization, buying only the Starter Pack is the cheapest option.
You can find purchase options on the product page here. If you're US-based, currently, DriveThruCards is the best way to get these cards—if you're not, the product page lists other options.
However, if you can wait a month or two, we're about to release a "remastered edition" of System Gateway. This won't change anything functionally and won't invalidate older versions, but will clean up and modernize some templating. Perhaps most importantly, it will also rework the cards to use our new, modern card backs—which we changed recently, when we renamed our organization. When we do that, we'll also release it on our web shop.
Let me know if I can answer any further questions. Happy to help. - The Starter Pack, which contains slimmed-down duel decks for learning the basics, plus a handful of extra cards for each side to introduce more advanced concepts, and
