Now, 25 years later, it is finally time for me to fix it, preserving the game for future generations.

In other news: I successfully patched an obscure 27 year old kids game/educational title I used to play back in the day and which stopped working after I updated my PC to Windows 2000.

The original will never ever run on anything newer than Windows 95/98. NT? Out of luck.

And now it runs on Windows 11.

Day 142 of me complaining about the stupid auto-translation of audio tracks on Youtube. They *still* don't offer an option to disable it once and for all.

If you want to install a 32 bit version of Windows 10 in current VMware and run into a BSOD at the beginning of the installation regarding NVMe storage devices:

Change the virtual disk drive to "SATA" to bypass.

What looked like a bit of background noise turned out to be a DDoS attack against the ScummVM website.

Creating New Installation Media for MS-DOS 4.0

On April 25, 2024, Microsoft released the source code of MS-/PC-DOS 4.00 to the public, and the community managed to provide MS-DOS 4.01 as well.

While the original release was available as a set of six 5,25" floppy disks (and optionally three 3,5" disks for version 4.01), this open-source release does not have official installation media.

Time to fix it!
