Sometimes when I have an idea for a new blog post, the hardest part is to actually get started, finding the right introduction and such.
Dear writers - do you have the same problems and if so, how do you encounter them?
Please #boost!

That's it. I used PowerShell for the first time.
Please don't do the AI thingy, thanks
@captainarcee I probably shouldn't start 1000 things at the same time.
@captainarcee Actually, it is.
Do you want another cliffhanger? Well - things are looking promising! The only constraint right now is... time.
oopsie... I leaked my next article on my blog by accident... And yup, there's an empty RSS entry now.
GREAT.
The Wikipedia page for the ext2 file system (yes, ext2!) claims that the maximum length of a file name is 255 bytes.
Can someone tell if this includes the full path or only the fhe file name _itself_?
I truly wonder what the real path limit is...
Oh, and to be more precise, I'm talking about a combination of ext2 and Kernel 2.2...
The game I enjoyed the most in my childhood stopped working on Windows 2000.
Now, 25 years later, it is finally time for me to fix it, preserving the game for future generations.
This is the first part of a series of articles, where I dig into Windows internals, split the light, and eventually learn how to program in Lingo.

@GreenSkyOverMe Was zum…
@GreenSkyOverMe Only took me 20 years. 😁
In other news: I successfully patched an obscure 27 year old kids game/educational title I used to play back in the day and which stopped working after I updated my PC to Windows 2000.
The original will never ever run on anything newer than Windows 95/98. NT? Out of luck.
And now it runs on Windows 11.
Stay tuned!
Day 142 of me complaining about the stupid auto-translation of audio tracks on Youtube. They *still* don't offer an option to disable it once and for all.
If you want to install a 32 bit version of Windows 10 in current VMware and run into a BSOD at the beginning of the installation regarding NVMe storage devices:
Change the virtual disk drive to "SATA" to bypass.
What looked like a bit of background noise turned out to be a DDoS attack against the ScummVM website.
Anubis truly saved the day. Read the full story here:

Nice idea to sell a new device with an LCD in 2025. I guess you have to somehow justify the OLED version that comes at a premium later.
@GreenSkyOverMe presentation pointer thingy?
I'm clearing out my domain portfolio, so don't miss your chance!
For sale:
https://max-design.at: Great domain if you run a design business! Also, this is the domain originally used by the developers of 1602 A.D./Anno 1602!
https://syndik.at: German word for "syndicate"!
Getting these domains sold would greatly help financing my projects, so making any offers (don't be shy!) or boosting would be FABULOUS!
Note to myself: Do not look into scanner bed while scanning boxart and the lid is open.
Since you really liked the story I posted yesterday, it is time to re-share the most ambitious blog post I've written so far.
Join me on a trip to memory lane where I try a virtual recreation of the very first PC I've ever used.
