   There is a dongle in one of the two USB ports of my keyboard.

   It's not the one for my Bluetooth headset because that dongle is directly in the laptop.

   So what dongle is this?!

   It would make sense for it to be a mouse ... but my mouse has a cable ...

   Now how do I find it out? When I unplug it my laptop beeps but makes no pop-up to inform me what stopped working.

     @herrLorenz It looks similar to the Wifi dongles that I have lying around, but my laptop has built-in working Wifi so I would never have had a reason to plug them into the keyboard that I only ever use with the laptop ... plugging and unplugging also doesn't cause any changes in the wifi list ... so that's probably not it ...

     It says "Logi". Sounds like a mouse? Did I have a wireless mouse at one point? I don't see one lying on my desk or in the shelf next to it. And I hate wireless keyboard and mice as I forget charging them. Maybe the cable-bound ergonomic mice were sold out in the company-internal market place at one point?

     My brain is a sieve :-/

     I do recall "I'm taking out the headset dongle and plugging it into the laptop because I'm putting this other dongle into the keyboard" ... but no recollection what it was for.

     @GreenSkyOverMe Currently using a Logi wireless keyboard/mouse combo at my desk with a teeny weeny dongle, so your assumption definitely holds water...

     @GreenSkyOverMe sounds like a Logitech receiver, it could be for any number of Logitech products, mouse/mice, keyboards, trackballs, etc
