lmao "hmm... I have solved the misconfiguration... it seems to be passing acme challenge... what could I possibly be missing"
it was, dear reader, that I forgot to make my router point requests to the right box

Obstacle to me writing anything routinely is I hate reading what I've written. I am probably going to let my blog die when its url expires solely on the basis that reading it makes me want to die. Does anyone have advice for practicing kindness to my past self in this context? (Aside from "write better." Clearly if that were an option I'd have taken it)
Finally found the amount of honey you can add to coffee that makes it too sweet even for me. Bleagh
I hope this email finds you staring at the wreckage, breathing free, maybe for the first time
"gradle" sounds like a word for a made up software product in a movie
@fleckenstein hm I may need to get a flipper zero before the us hops on that bandwagon
@tillshadeisgone I don't *think* he meant it that broadly, more narrowly he seemed to be indicating that hereditary wealth gaps (themselves caused by colonialism and racism) were a much larger factor than active current discrimination, which could be true in Mexico, or parts of Mexico, for all I know. He also claims he got that data from elsewhere, which I assume is further detailed in his book. Still, yeah, eyebrows were raised.
I don't think this means his work is useless automatically and I generally approve of challenging liberal concepts of social change and organization. I just think he doesn't put his best foot forward here lol
Also like. I know it's a long academic tradition to constantly be claiming your predecessors were too ivory-tower and you're the only one plugged into the reality on the ground, but you are a professor dude. I know the neighborhood GMU sits in, I have family there. I don't know your whole life but maybe if you stopped kidding yourself about not being part of the establishment you'd be better able to integrate the work of prior theorists who were also simultaneously outside and insidenthe establishment
https://jacobin.com/2024/02/lgbtq-politics-class-socialism-homophobia-mexico Maybe he's just bad at advertising his thoughts (or maybe he's going for hateclicks) but I don't think this guy is engaging effectively with queer theory or with gay people generally if his concept of queer-as-in-queer-theory is "stubborn particularist constructing a narrative of eternal oppression to build a microcommunity pecking order."
I'm incredibly interested in socialist universalism as it applies to queer theory and conceptualizing gayness/queerness/fagginess as something inherently amorphous that can be shaped into forms that sustain multiple conflicting narratives simultaneously (particularly wrt class), but I'm not sure *he* is if that's how he chooses to piss on every theorist prior to himself lol
for anyone taking notes and looking to set up a similar service: mailjet (same parent company as mailgun) works, brevo/sendblue did not. not sure if it's because there's a problem with the proton.me address or what, but if your email verification service does not successfully send me a verification email to sign up, that's a good sign that it's also going to fail for other people
trying to sign up for an email verification service since mailgun no longer has a free plan
"please go to your inbox to verify your email!"
they haven't sent me any email even after trying to resend and therefore the account won't let me in
maybe this is not a great sign
profile pic change successful!
reflecting right now that it's comically easy to gain my loyalty. soul-hammer on tumblr drew this picture for me years ago as part of a donation drive and I don't know her name but I know if she was in the neighborhood and had a body to bury I'd be there with a shovel
