@alex Thank you Alex. I would like to take this time to say that although I have not died, I do still occasionally stumble across @sjw ‘s posts and wish that I had. Also that Gab is a boomer shithole and fedi is infinitely better, and thanks for inviting me to join your instance, because it was exactly what I needed when Twitter was being run by left-wing crazies, and most of the alternatives were being run by right-wing crazies.

Hanania got outed as having advocated for white nationalism when he was in his early 20s. I think he did a great job explaining why he was like that when he was younger, and how his views evolved (they actually had, long before he was outed).

Does a great job of distancing himself from his early political writings, without making it some kind of groveling apology.

@chromeratt Jesus, how long did that take you to print? And what did you print it with?

Goal here was to do something basic that actually has some utility, but is still fairly simple geometry-wise.

Designed a basic drafting template in OpenSCAD, printing it now.

Went with a 2mm thickness so I could get some stiffness (will probably reduce), tapers to 0.5mm on the drawing edge. Need to add lips to the insides of the interior cutouts so my writing utensils don’t hop out.

Will probably also change how I translate the cutouts so that instead of running along a centerline dictated by the size of the largest one, the top edge of them all run along a line that’s a fixed distance from the edge of the template. That’ll give me room to add a few more features.

Random product recommendation since it’s on sale.

I’ve had one of these for years and use it almost daily. Recommend it, really convenient because it’s so damn small. If you need a stapler, but don’t need one often, and/or like the idea of having it be highly portable, this is probably the one. At $3 shipped and 1000 staples included, it’s also cheap enough that you don’t need one that often for it to be worthwhile
