@skinnylatte curious to know about which group of people from Vietnam speak the same dialect as your family from Singapore. When I was in Hanoi there was a museum of all the ethic groups in Vietnam and there was an overwhelming number of small groups.

@skinnylatte you're now making me dream about fabulous Vietnamese food. One place we stayed at in Sapa made pancakes for breakfast too (with a fair amount of rice flour in the batter), so for me that's also a Vietnamese breakfast
