Walking around Sriracha #Thailand to get breakfast this morning, some 60%-90% of folks in mostly #KF94 respirators. It was just the Thai New Year's celebrations here over the weekend, maybe folks are seeing an uptick in sickies and responding appropriately, or just taking a simple effective precaution to avoid illness.

Some might wonder why I lash out at moderate centrists so frequently, and frankly it's because nobody else does 🤷🏻♂️

Faced with the rising tide of fascism, #centrism serves only to buy time for the affluent to protect themselves while preventing any recourse. Centrists often fly under the radar because their commitments are non-existent. They campaign on milquetoast platitudes to lull constituents into a false sense of security as they quietly, discreetly facilitate the agenda of the far right.

I'm not buying the fear mongering this year. If there's a headline about something horrible Trump or R's openly campaigning to do if/when re-elected, all that signals to me is the new low set for good faith discussion, normalization, and compromises by Dems.

Don't take any shit from moderate centrists. They are the next level of corruption, intertwined closely with the corporate interests of the oligarchy pushing the Overton window farther right at every opportunity. Fucking done being nice with these clowns. These are enablers, not allies.

The "center" would have been using the moment to implement universal healthcare, alongside a strong public health campaign encouraging prevention and vaccines, empowering people to make informed decisions about their bodies, allowing the market to develop for supportive therapies and technologies.

Instead they insisted on yielding to the antimasker antivaxxers entirely and redefined a whimsical PH response as "the center" 🤬

They are centrists, after all... not barbarians. There will naturally be implications for whether a specific permit is required, but that should go without saying.

Kyrsten Sinema will issue the baby halving permits in a blood drenched gown, twice a year, until she's replaced by an AI.

True, there might not be a corporate sponsored duocracy to vote in anymore if Trump really becomes a dictator. It's not that the warning signs haven't been there for the last 8 years, but it was simply more profitable and convenient to handle them as "business as usual". Recall how Pelosi promptly seated 130+ sworn Seditionists in Congress at the start of 2021, days before their coup. They continue to fester like a blight on democracy & the opportunity to expand the Supreme Court squandered.

If Trump getting back in power is what it takes for Dems to take an interest in living wages, workers rights, post-secondary education, child labor, climate, healthcare for all, and taxing the ultra wealthy, that's all on them. R's don't win because of the popularity of their policies, never have - they win because the only other option presents themselves as so flaccid, ineffectual, and duplicitous people simply don't see how they will provide any resistance. And they don't 🤷🏻♂️

Any misfortune that befalls the Dem party is well deserved - they were at the helm and chose moderate centrism as the path forward into the rising tide of fascism, coddling the Manchinema Caucus with treats and bribes instead of looking out for their constituents. Good luck everyone 🍀

I wonder if anyone thinks there'll be riots after SCOTUS declares Trump did not participate in the coup he organized... but I also wonder who has the energy?

When Dems were in control, they prioritized security spending for SCOTUS and another $100M for cops to protect the establishment.

Centrists lauded this as sensible and moderate, so I hope they enjoy the flavor of that boot coming down on their neck- they're going to need to keep licking it real good, because it's not going anywhere now.
