I haven't played a Mario game newer than The Year Of Luigi. Until I can get them for 20 bucks I have no plans of getting any of the modern Zelda games, especially not the open world ones. Every Fire Emblem game after Awakening has my eyes glaze over at the mere mention.

Like, it's a series that helps me retain the memory of my dead mom, who I used to play with and trade with all the time. My mom who tried to make a living dex all the way back in gen 1, and I helped her out.

What is keeping me with nintendo is JUST that at this point.

Real talk though, if they never put out another pokemon game, I would drop nintendo like a hot iron. I'd just buy a steam deck and say "Oh well. That sucks" if a game I wanted wasn't on steam.

My emotional attachment to pokemon is the only thing holding me on.

Windows isn't as lucky. Though I've had to admit to myself I'll have to get windows as my next PC because the one I've got my eyes on will not have enough saved up for by the time I need a new comp, but I'm not going to let myself be AS invested in it, and will be testing out unbuntu on it.

Like, I'm about as done with Nintendo as I am with Windows, only I have a deep emotional need to be up to date on the mainline pokemon games because otherwise I'll feel like I've lost another piece of my mom's memory if I can't go through them all "OH mom would love that pokemon!" while playing.

I can't even think of any other nintendo exclusive games I'd care about. Except maybe Fantasy Life? But I'm willing to miss out on those in favour of access to the majority of my steam library of over 200 games, easy emulation of classics, and the joy of not paying Nintendo money to fuck me over.

No, as much as I want to joke about it, that's just a part of it. A lot of it is how they've treated fans, and their legal bullshitting.

@joeo10 I'm looking at the framework brand you mentioned, and without windows it's in the 800s, and it looks so simple so far that even I could put it together? Which looks GREAT because I'd like my next laptop to be something that can actually be *serviced* instead of ripped apart if I want to do basic repairs or upgrades.

Honestly, it's likely due to them seeming to have more variety? When I think "Japanese snacks" I can't really settle on one or two things. But with American snacks its an easy "Potatoes, chocolate, popcorn or jerky" for me, all in the same 3-4 flavours.

I swear... In the unlikely event I am ever able to visit Japan, I'm bringing two suitcases to just load up with japanese snacks. I don't know why Japanese snacks appeal to me so much more than the majority of American snacks.

The Switch controls are literally unmanageable. When a PS2 game's controls work better than its modern equivalent you have a PROBLEM.

@joeo10 Omg it never showed me your reply on the app I was using. I was in the hospital to get fluid off - I have heart failure and it builds up due to not being able to take my diuretics consistently thanks to my sleep disorder being fucky.

I’m getting to go home!!! All that’s left is paperwork and all that!

I want to try to sleep but the hospital room’s AC/Heater is rattling too loud >:(
